In the early 1950's, Mr & Mrs Rex traveled the US, looking for a few good mares to start their breeding program. They came home with one of Government lines, one of Brunk breeding, and one of the Old Vermont lines. Their stallion was the excellent Rex's Major Monte. Mr. Rex passed on and Frieda then married Frank Waer, a character in his own right. They bred some really good Morgans.
When I was just starting in Morgans, the Waers were winding down but their Morgans were still going strong. My favorite was Waer's Dividend, truly typey, handsome and correct. There were many outstanding mares also.
These photos, all taken at the 1972 Morgans Show at the Pomona Fairgrounds, are but a small sampling.
