I was able to see Sam showing many times. He was handsome, correct & typey. At the Santa Barbara Medallion show one year, Mrs. Harrod rode him sidesaddle in the trail class. They were doing great until the obstacle where the rider had to dismount, walk away, return & mount. Sam waited until she was a few feet away, gave her a knowing look & then purposefully wandered off. She just laughed, collected him, got on & finished the class.
