Aquila's Top Command 9/91 TMH

1988 stallion
(Futurity Top Command x Foxy's Cotton Queen)
Cotton Queen--(Foxfire x Cotton Candy) 1969, registered as chestnut w/light mane & tail
Candy--(Townshend Gaymeade x Arvada) 1956, registered as chestnut w/light mane & tail
Arvada--(Fillmore x Luxury) 1951, registered as cream w/white mane & tail
Luxury--(Night Tide x Mallow) registered as Dun with black mane & tail

Here is a fine example of how researching color in the breed can get interesting.
We know that the colorful Night Tide daughters had the cream gene to give buckskins & palominos. Back when Luxury was foaled however, oftentimes dun & buckskin were used interchangeably.
Arvada, registered as cream, would have been a palomino.
The two registered as chestnuts would also have been palomino because the stallion in the ad was a palomino.
