Both the Gold mares go back to Dorsey of Kentucky's Golddust Morgan.
I never was able to find information on Ayer's program, but his Ayr Morgans show up here & there in other's programs. He certainly brought together Morgans of the best of the Western breeding of the time--Sellman, Hineman, Brown.
