Wow, just came across this. I am Tina Ralsten Nauman and don't think I ever saw this photo. I have wonderful memories of my time riding Max Hi Society Kid. He was a very special horse. This photo was my first trail ride with him and his owner, Rex Maxson, told me to stay in the back of the large group of riders since we didn't know how he would do on a trail ride. He had other ideas and inched his way up to the front by the end of the ride and behaved himself beautifully. I know my first presence in the show ring scared everyone as I weighed in at under 100 pounds and Hi Society, being a stallion, made everyone nervous until they all discovered he was always the perfect gentleman.
This blog is dedicated to the Old Morgan--either those who are long gone or those who are contemporary and aged. I will be posting photos of historical Morgans and my own aged horses. Visitors are welcome to submit photos, both historical horses and their own aged horses. Please make the photos of reasonable size and make sure they are compressed. Include as much information as possible on each photo. Use this email addy--
I've been a student of the horse all my life and an avid reader of all sorts of books. I got into Morgans in 1979, getting my first Morgans in 1980 and then becoming a breed historian with published articles in various publications. I still have Morgans, and cats.
